Late Shri Ashok Chandra (1936 - 2023)
Former Chairman, The DPS Society
Former bureaucrat Ashok Chandra, who played a key role in shaping policies across different Central ministries and also served as an advisor to the governor of Uttar Pradesh in the early 1990s.
Shri Ashok Chandra, served as Additional Secretary in the Department of Company Affairs. He also served the Government of India as Secretary in the Ministry of Food Processing Industry, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Information and Broadcasting and the Department of Heavy Industry. He was Advisor to the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, India and also Advisor to the Government of Afghanistan.
Shri Ashok Chandra had been Chairman of Sir Ganga Ram Trust Society which runs the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi.
He has been member of the Delhi Public School Society since 1990.
Late Shri Indrajit Seth (1937 - 2022)

Shri Indrajit Seth was a post-graduate in Law from the University of Cambridge. Shri Indrajit Seth is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Accountancy of England and Wales
He was Executive Director of Sterling General Insurance Company Ltd. He was Chief Executive of Bharat Carbon and Ribbon Manufacturing Company Ltd and is now Director at SGS India Ltd and Chairman at Delhi Safe Deposit Company Ltd.
He has been member of the Delhi Public School Society since 1975.
Late Prof. Shri B. P. Khandelwal (1940 - 2021)

Prof. B. P. Khandelwal has served in responsible capacities as Director and Secretary in the field of education in U.P. Government.
He has been the Chairman of the CBSE, President of the Council of the School Boards of India and has also worked as the Director at the National Institute of Education, Planning and Administration.
He has contributed as the Member Education at The DPS Society and has been member of the Delhi Public School Society since 1998.
Late Shri S. L. Dhawan (1933 - 2020)

Mr. S. L. Dhawan has enjoyed a long innings in the field of education
Mr. S. L. Dhawan has set up DPS Ranipur (1977-1982) and DPS Noida (1992-1988) as founder Principal.
He was awarded Padma Shri in 1991 in recognition of his contribution in the field of education.
He has worked as Director Projects, Member Secretary and Hony. Treasurer of the DPS Society.
Late Dr. A. R. Kidwai (1921 – 2016)
Member, The DPS Society since 1975
Dr. A. R. Kidwai contributed as the Vice President and Patron of the DPS Society.
He served as Governer of Haryana, Bihar and West Bengal; President of Vocational Education Society for Women; Chairman, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Centre for Bio-Medical Research at Delhi University and Chairman at Bombay Mercantile Cooperative Bank, Mumbai. He was a member of Rajya Sabha.
He was Chairman and Member of the UPSC.
He served as the Head of the Department of Chemistry and Dean, Faculty of Sciences and Chancellor at Aligarh Muslim University.
Late Shri V.R. Vaish ( - 2014)
Late Shri V.R. Vaish
Mr. V.R. Vaish, a Civil Engineer and the topper of IIT-Roorkee, has been involved in major construction activities in India that took place between the years 1955-1979.
He served in the Central Engineering Services and held senior position of Chief Engineer and Secretary PWD Himachal Pradesh. Managing Director-National Building Construction Corporation; Advisor Construction in Bureau of Public Enterprises and President of Indian Roads Congress. He has also worked as Director General of Works in Central Public Work Department (CPWD), which is the highest position in Engineering Services in India. He has been awarded laurels by the Deputy Prime Minister of India for his accomplishments in the area of Civil Engineering.
Mr. Vaish also acted as an Arbitrator in a large number of cases for Public Sector Undertakings, Public Works Department, DDA, NDMC, MCD etc. He was also an Advisor to DDA, and Chairman of Building and Works Committee of the IIT Delhi.
He has held various important high positions related to his work and vast experience. He has worked as the Member Working Committee and the Member Engineer of the DPS Society.
Late Shri Khushwant Singh (1915 – 2014)

Mr. Khushwant Singh, a recipient of Padma Vibhushan in 2007, Padma Bhushan in 1974 and other very distinguished national awards, is a noted Indian novelist and freelance journalist, joined the Ministry of External Affairs in the Government of India. He edited Yojana, an Indian Government Journal, The Illustrated Weekly of India, The National Herald and The Hindustan Times. He has authored many short stories and novels and is best known for his trenchant secularism, his humour, and an abiding love of poetry. The other important awards that he values as much are - Honest Man of the year - Sulabh International, Panth Ratan - Punjab Government (Badal), Punjab Rattan Award, The Government of Punjab (Amarinder Singh).
From 1980 through 1986, Mr. Singh was a member of Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian parliament.
Late Dr. (Ms.) A. Nanda ( - 2012)

Dr. A. Nanda, a Ph.D from Delhi University was awarded a fellowship to study in the London Institute of Education. She has worked in senior capacities in the Directorate of Education, Delhi Administration.
Dr. Nanda has also been Lecturer at the Central Institute of Education at Delhi University and was a Member in CBSE. Dr. Nanda has been awarded the UNESCO Fellowship to study Teacher Education at the University of Manila.
Dr. Nanda has worked as Hony. Secretary of the DPS Society.
Late Shri Gen. J. S. Bawa ( - 2011)

Lt. Gen. J.S. Bawa graduated from the Defence Service Staff College and National Defence Academy. He was a fellow of Engineering (Civil); worked as the Chief Engineer, Western Command; Director General Border Roads; Engineer-in-Chief in the Indian Army; President of the Indian Road Congress and Institution of Engineers India.
He has been the Managing Director at Burn Standard. His distinguished services rendered to the nation made him the recipient of Param Vashisht Sewa Medal and Ati Vashisht Sewa Medal.
He rendered his services as the officiating Hony. Secretary and as Member Administration at the DPS Society.
Late Justice Shri N.N. Goswamy ( - 2010)

Justice Narinder Nath Goswamy, B.A., LLB, started practicing at the Punjab High Court and later shifted the venue of the practice from Chandigarh to Delhi and appeared in many important cases in Delhi High Court and Supreme Court.
He has been Secretary and Member of the Executive Committee of the Punjab High Court Bar Association for a number of years. He was on the panel of the Advocates for the State of Haryana as also for the State of Punjab in the Supreme Court.
He became Central Government Pleader, Additional Judge and Permanent Judge of the High Court of Delhi.
Presently he is a Senior Standing Counsel of the Government of India and practicing at the Supreme Court of India. He is also a member of leading Arbitration Board of India and also of the International Arbitration Board.
Justice Goswamy has also worked as the Member Administration, Vice Chairman and Chairman of the DPS Society.
Late Dr. Kamla Chowdhry ( 1920 - 2006)

M.A and Ph.D in Social Psychology from Michigan University.
Held important positions at IIM, Ahmedabad and Havard Business School, The Ford Foundation and National Wastelands Development Board.
Chairperson, Centre of Science and Environment.
She was a founding member of the Global Peace Initiative of Women.
Consultant and Advisor to many national and international organizations.
Late Dr. Prem Kirpal ( -2005)

Recipient of several national and international awards, including the UNESCO Gold Medal (1972), National Award for promoting International Cultural Cooperation, Order of the Republic of Egypt and UAR etc.
Secretary, Ministry of Education and Culture (1960-68) and Educational Adviser to Government of India. Chairman of the Executive Board of UNESCO (1970-1972). Director of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (1962-1968).
Former Chairman and President, the DPS Society.
A prolific writer of books on Education, Culture and several books on poetry.

Worked as consulting Architect, Tennessee, USA 1947-1949.
Consulting Architect to the Government of Punjab 1950-1957.
Associated with the development of Chandigarh Capital from its inception, along with Le Corbusier and Pearrer Jeanneret.
Received Padma Shri Award in 1977 for professional excellence.

An Associate of the London Institute of Education and held a Diploma in Secondary Education and Administration from the State Department of Education, Washington.
